Vacation on St. Simons Island

For our vacation this year we decided to visit an old favorite; St. Simons Island. On the way, we stopped over in Savannah where I went to college and spent a day there. For dinner we went to the Pirate's House which was memorable for it's history of harboring pirates if not for the quality of the food. (I guess you can't have everything *G*) Anyway, we also wandered the river front and took a Trolley Tour around the city before heading out to St. Simons.

In St. Simons we rented a house and my Dad, Ben, Kristin et al were able to join us for a few days spent fishing, golfing, touring the lighthouse, and visiting Jekyll Island.

I think all in all it was one of the nicest vacations we've had in a long time. Can't wait to see where we go next year.....

Dog Days of Summer

Caroline's Graduation Ceremony

Wow what an exciting night! There we were, my Mom and me watching the eighth grade awards ceremony (Caroline got a social studies award-yay, CC!!!) at Presson Hall in Agnes Scott College. They had gotten about halfway through when the tornado sirens started going off. At first they tried to continue on with the ceremony, but then the authorities were alerted that a funnel cloud had been sighted nearby. At that time, we had to evacuate to the basement where we sat for the next hour waiting for the all clear signal; parents and young graduates dressed to the nines squashed together in a hall. It was memorable if nothing else!

The Renaissance Fair

We had the pleasure of introducing the kids to the Renaissance Fair this spring. It was never here when we were visiting from St. Croix so they's never been. Actually, Bill and I hadn't been in 17 years for that matter. We started out by renting costumes, I know it sounds silly, but it really set the tone for the day! The fair was a blast with juggling acts, jousting matches occasionally glimpsing the king and queen striding through. We had a GREAT time and can't wait till next year! April's Flowers.......

I have had the MOST fun this year designing my new garden. Here are some of the highlights from April................. "Bloom Where You're Planted"

Thanks Easter Bunny!

Here we are celebrating our first Easter with all five cousins together for the first time! Although Bill and my Dad weren't able to be with us, it was a wonderful day. We began at Ben and Kristin's house for a nice breakfast which we concluded by dyeing Easter Eggs.

Then we met at Mom's for an egg hunt which was a great success!

We finished the evening at our house with a traditional Easter dinner of ham, twice baked potatoes and such. All in all it was a great day!
